Hi Albert,<br>
<br>
I have noticed that many LISP users seem to be located in Germany,
so there was a good chance there would be a FritzBox user - it is
the most common router in Germany. And, not surprisingly, there was
a response from Holger. <br>
AFAIK, FritzOS is based on Linux, so it is reasonable to assume that
they use the Linux' LISP implementation - but we cannot be sure, of
course. AVM (the manufacturer) don't seem to make it easy to get
access to the source code. <br>
I am sure, however, that the password is correct, because I've
copied it.<br>
It is good to know that the lisp4.net status page is not real-time,
because I used it to double-check. It is what I was referring to
indeed, because the FritzBox does not have a proper LISP status
indication - only the config page, with no success or error
messages. I can only conclude indirectly that the LISP connection
failed because I cannot ping that address, and because the router
keeps getting and reporting dynamic addresses (both IPv4 and IPv6 in
any config case). According to the article in c't magazine that
Holger mentioned, it should report the LISP address in case of a
success.<br>
I'll see if there is a way to crank some log files out of the
FritzBox. It's one of those disadvantages of closed systems again,
isn't it? I'd be using my OpenWrt router if it wasn't for the
FritzBox' integrated telephony system...<br>
Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll keep you informed of any progress.<br>
<br>
Regards,<br>
Gunnar<br>

Unfortunately this mailing list is related to an implementation
of LISP for Linux, OpenWRT and Android called OpenOverlayRouter.
I don't know if any member of the list have experience with
FritzBox, which is not my case :-P, if there is any one who can
help you is more than welcome !!<br>
Have you double checked the password I sent to you? When you
tell us about LISP status page, do you refers to a page of the
router configuration or do you refers to the page of lisp4.net?
This last one is updated every couple of hours so you need to be
connected during this period of time to appear as an active
site. Does your router have some logs file or similar to check
if there is any specific problem?<br>
Regarding yous ISP, LISP use the UDP ports 4341 and 4342.<br>
<br>
Best regards<br>

Dear mail list members,<br>
<br>
I very recently joined the beta network and have issues with the
LISP config of my router (a FritzBox 6360 cable). I've been
discussing this with Albert Lopez and only a few minutes ago got
attracted by this mail list. I can only guess how many
receipients there are, but allow me to re-post my latest
question here:<br>

Hi Albert,<br>
<br>
thanks again for the additional addresses. I get both an IPv4
and an IPv6 address from my provider, which the router reports
to my eMail address when they are refreshed. The router allows
to select which one is "native". I tested both matching
configurations, i.e. "native" dynamic IPv4 with IPv4 LISP
settings, and the same for IPv6. I also tested native IPv4
(=Dual Stack, according to the settings) with IPv6 LISP.<br>
None of these worked: the LISP status page indicates
garndt-xtr as inactive, and the router uses regular dynamic
addresses.<br>
The following are the settings which I usually use:<br>
<br>
<img src="cid:part3.464DC1D6.694FFAE8@arndt.city" alt=""
class=""><br>
Don't be scared about the german explanations - I'm sure
you're able to get the meaning if necessary.<br>
Is it possible for my provider to prevent the usage of LISP?
They manage firmware updates of the router remotely, so I
guess they would have turned of its LISP config page in that
case, but who knows? Too bad Unitymedia's customer service has
been becoming worse recently...<br>
<br>
Kind regards,<br>

Dear Albert and maintainers,<br>
<br>
thank you for the login data. I haven't yet succeeded in
actually joining the network. There does not seem to a lot
that could be configured the wrong way in my "FritzBox"
router:<br>
<img src="cid:part4.67464B16.3BB09807@arndt.city" alt=""

There is another tab that allows a static IPv6 address to
be set, but if I set the EID prefix for IPv6 there, too,
the internet access does not work any longer, so I
returned to the recommended DHCPv6 option.<br>
My provider is Unitymedia (formerly KabelBW), a cable TV
provider. You don't happen to have information if they
allow their customers to use LISP, do you?<br>
There does not seem to be much information for end users
about LISP in the web. Can you give me a hint how to
proceed? Thanks again.<br>

Kind regards,<br>
